Normally I don't do... errr... shopping recommendations, but this game is worth every single cent, dime, whatever you call it. Every. Single. One.
And that's just because of its music.
However the game simply is brilliant too. In it's cool b&w aesthetics. In its uncompromisingly but anytime fair (as far as I can tell) difficulty. Because of tons of hidden surprises (I know it because H0ffman coded large chunks of the game in public on Twitch. Some of the most impressive Twitch streams you may get when interested in Games AND coding).
And because code AND music were done by one and the same human being, Hoffman (npub14u7…8rpg), someone I really value. Because he is one of the most creative #Amiga #demoscene artists ever, I'm not kidding.
So yes, this IS an Amiga game that runs on all Amigas, even the Amiga1000 from 1985, without any compromise, as long as there are 512kb Chip and 512kb additional RAM of whatever type.
As far as I understand, a controller that allows for 8 way action (not sure how to connect something like that to a real Amiga), will help a lot (think Robotron, the classic arcade game!).
To make something like that happen on such an old computer, you really need to know your #68000 #Motorola as well as the #Paula chip (sound). As far as I understand, H0ffman is using a "Paula is sampling itself" technique to archive more than the build in 4 hardware tracks of sound at the same time without dedicating too much of CPU time for it.
SO WICKED!!
Please take a look – even if it's just some youtube lets play. It's worth it.
