There’s a similar one near our house (a decommissioned telephone booth), called a “Wind Telephone”, which my wife occasionally uses to speak to her late father.
I don’t tell her that it functions the same as the one in your photo, because (i like to think) i’m not a ghoul. Though i can’t imagine it giving me solace, i’m thankful to its creator for helping those whom it helps.
