Remember the Pied Piper Strategy?
Honestly it's hard for me to believe they're doing anything else, after they keep giving the GOP what it wants and with the way they maintain all these rotating villains/excuses to manage to never have enough votes for the most important things.
And this "lesser evil" pattern just keeps cycling. Honestly, WHY would they ever allow progressives push them to pass anything that threatens their corporate sugar daddies? They'd rather let Republicans win. That way they never have to earn a vote again. We're held hostage.
Note that they'd rather suppress voters by doubling down on the spoiler effect and fearmongering, than push for any kind of ranked choice voting. They amplify conflict instead of encouraging solidarity. The spoiler effect is a weapon.
