So it runs sooo close to an acceptable level and then slows down like 25% more during combat for some reason. FF16 is unplayable on my hardware I guess. Just have to admit it. It's crazy too because I can handle something like Armored Core 6 beautifully and get very smooth, high intensity action but this game was optimized by retards. Square Enix just sucks today.
Found out that Nvidia forces a bunch of bloat nonsense shit on driver updates that hurt performance greatly. Followed some guy's guide to uninstalling and reinstalling without the extras. Going to test against the FF16 demo which ran like absolute shit for me before. I think I managed to turn everything down to minimum and get like 25 fps out of that aside from the crazy high def moments which stuttered even worse. Cautiously optimistic.
