Honestly I don't see a point of opt in telemetry. It's incredibly biased towards highly technical users that tracks what's going on the distro.

Dunno if it would fly with the users but wouldn't the steam approach be more sensible one? With once in a while popup asking to share the hardware specs and other PC info that could be viewed and inspected by the user before sending them to Fedora.
