I think Bitcoin is more attractive than gold because you can buy it in tiny quantities, but if a viable CDBC were created, with low, steady inflation, then a lot of the usefulness of Bitcoin would be reduced (within the countries allowed into the scheme).
Most people like low levels of inflation because it raises monetary velocity and allows for debt-based lending, while still being a rate that a productive person can exceed.
