had to google #sortition as I'd not heard lottery based legislative selection called that before (I'm retired & out of such debates now).
But yes, I do think lottery based second house would be a vast improvement on the current arrangements; I'm enough of a democrat to want to see a strong representative element (one house with a form of PR but voting), but would welcome that being balanced (a 'countervailing power') with a second house that looked like an ongoing Citizens' Jury...
