Went for a special walk about reptiles and amphibians at the local nature center today. The event was dominated by an autistic boy who chattered loudly, constantly about Pokemon and interrupted the guide at least once a minute to ask a Pokemon-related question. Geez. And the guide redirected every time, so it wasn't the leader's fault. What a waste that the kid wasn't exposed to reptiles early in the development of his idee fixe. He could have used his life to share useful research with the world instead of wasting it all on a corporate wealth scheme. I did get some exercise, so not really sorry I went, but I learned something about these events. I was planning on playing hooky from work next week to attend a nature demo on raptors, but maybe I'll skip it. There's no point, if there's no guarantee there will be a discussion of raptors.
