That's been my experience with Umbrel, too. You just feel like you're not allowed to drive. That's a bummer about your node hanging on ledger sync. I think you're going the right route for more control. I'm trying to think of best use for this RPI so I'm going to keep it on Umbrel for now and use for node, lightning, nostr relay, and nextcloud. Maybe when kids get a little older I'll have a more advanced solution and can the RPI for projects with them.
