just agree with them and keep them talking. if something becomes logically or emotionally incongruent, either they don't know or they're lying deliberately. delibrate liars will get aggressive and hostile, try to shame you or insult you, OR they will get momentarily anxious (might be hard to read if you're not too empathetic) then start weaving stories / excuses on the fly for how everything they said is true -- basically classic can't take responsibility. a person who didn't know would stop and think and consider what you said, and may not have known the "bugs" in their stories or emotions on the other hand
I find with these listed heuristics people makes too many judgemental errors, and still open themselves up to being taken advantage of. learn how the world works and you can cross reference information instead, without causing self-fulfilling prophecies that haunt you. though granted maybe I'm biased because seems people keep tagging me with those heuristics a lot
