Seriously Israel? Fucking really? Double fucking bingo I guess.
Usually, reasons for marking a square off are given by the *first* qualifying event of the year observed. At least two of the squares would've been pinged multiple times over (especially "race riots,") but because it's a bingo card we just pick the first one to ding it.
A summary:
1) (Some) Israeli citizens caught sanctions from various Western nations, which is infinitely more than anyone here expected.
2) Navalny died under extremely poor conditions in prison, which I'm counting. There's other various politicians who also have been killed, but Navalny was the first this year.
3) Haiti became relevant for collapsing, which counts due to popular vote here (7 Yay, 1 Nay)
4) Gorf is obviously a new grift for the sake of gathering a bunch of right wing people and getting dox on them.
5) Border riot on March 21st in El Paso by Mexicans. There's also been large riots in England, but the El Paso riots were the first such riots this year.
6) Trump being labeled a convicted felon is open rigging. Moreover, multiple states have made serious effort to remove him from the ballot. I hadn't expected to check this off before November, but the rigging is open and egregious enough that it must be marked prematurely.
7) The Biden administration is refusing to release audio recordings over concerns posed by generative AI - there's no doubt that this is bad enough that it would be a scandal, it's a clean hit. (https://archive.is/NoWMN)
8) Trump's attempted assassination was an inside job. It was used to attempt to jockey for a war with Iran - which hasn't panned out. It killed a US civilian. This counts as a 9/11-style killing of US civilians by the US.
9) A quick glance at Bitcoin's value this year shows a giant bubble - a boom and a collapse.
10) China's economy has taken enough hits that a number of experts are calling it a "collapse." I had planned on putting this one to a vote at year's end, but as much as China's economy can "collapse" it is doing so. https://archive.is/Xu4aP
11) The Apalachee High School shooter was a troon, and this is clear from pictures of them.
12) US surge of troops to the Middle East after Israel's terror attack against Lebanon.
13) Israel launching bombs with depleted god damn fucking Uranium in Lebanon. https://archive.is/7dgql
Notes:
1) The largest university to collapse this year was agreed by popular vote to *not* count as "major." That square is almost impossible to mark off at this point.
2) There's been a number of major diseases which have risen to "outbreak" status, but not "pandemic" status - Bird Flu and Monkey Pox being the two most notable ones.
3) China killing foreign civilians is getting tallied and marked off later. That one will require a combination of news stories to mark off, my current tally does not exceed 10. It may be true that I just haven't looked into this square carefully, but this is a shitposty bingo card so I'll put effort into it in December - or earlier if that square is what would cause a bingo (unlikely).
4) US involvement in Kursk does not count as a "war" between the US and Russia currently. It might in the future.
