I'm kind of pissed off that the developers of a boating product I use has invited me to join a group of power users to help shape the future of the product, but there's a catch: participation is via a private group on Facebook.🙄

I left Facebook at least 2 years ago and have no intention of going back.

Why are companies depending on that service for basic communication needs? Do they have no respect for customer privacy?
