When I was younger it was easier to text about my problems than talk about them with my therapist. So talking to an AI seems like it’d be even easier. I bet something like HumeAI will be turned into a therapy service. But they would need to have limited timeframes or tell their “clients”? to stop using them or something so the AI doesn’t become the their best friend lol. Maybe a real therapist would have to work as oversight for their various AIs. Idk if it’d work but I could see it happening. The data stuff would need to be private but idk if that’s really possible.
