#WritersCoffeeClub Writing advice to ignore?
Aside from the slack-minded instruction to slavishly hold to the advice about writing only what you know, as if everyone should only write autobiographies or instruction manuals and not about emotions and imagination, the idea of avoiding adverbs, because they're lazy, is both distressingly repugnant and witlessly ironic.
Like all generalisations, advice is best considered as a challenge and not a limitation.
