#PennedPossibilities 486 — The zipper of your MC’s costume breaks. How would others react to seeing them still in their costume on November 1st?

Since the female MC of the only Hallowe'en story I've written—which is a short-short riff for hashtag Writever of a novel I never got enough story to write—wears a Robin costume her late father once wore. Think the 1960s TV show Batman. Burt Ward. Yellow cape, green body suit, red-breasted vest, flesh-color tights. Oh, and don't forget the black eye mask! Cute. Arguably effeminate. Perfect for her, worn by her father when he was a teen and still skinny as a rail. She IS NOT damaging that costume.

She'll take the day off!

Which is good. Lemonade from lemons. It's 2024 and she's playing host to the small crew of a starship that crashed in her Hollywood backyard. Well, probably yesterday, but due to the word limit I never stated. The captain is a 7-foot blue-skinned... well, she passes as a woman, though somewhat reptilian complexioned. There's also the tiger person. Full fur. Stripes. Teeth. Flat; he's vegetarian. And don't forget the 1st mate who has this thing about NOT wearing clothes despite being passably mammalian. Well, largely mammalian, which is a problem. If she goes out looking like Robin on Nov 1st with these companions, she might just get away with it if she can keep the 1st mate under control.

Don't worry, 1st Mate added greatly increased the good fun they had at the West Hollywood Halloween Carnival last night! His appearance was newsworthy.
