quoting nevent1q…8sq9Dante is my standard poodle. I recently had him shaved down. So for the time being he looks like a short-haired dog, and his breed's natural traits are very evident. He has floppy ears, a long snout, a deep chest and a narrow waist. What remains of his coat is reminiscent of crushed velvet.
Poodles are also very good runners. During his walk yesterday Dante was sometimes mistaken for a greyhound. The resemblance is quite close, so it's not surprising. If I had to single out a distinguishing trait it would be that I've never seen Dante's ears erect, while my greyhound Neve's ears were often pricked up when she was alert.
