A number of all time favorite records were recorded by Steve Albini, but his music itself meant a lot to me. I adored Big Black since the first time I heard them as a teenager and their chapter in Our Band Could Be Your Life was one of my favorites, and as I grew older I really came to appreciate the musicianship and craft of Shellac.

Dude was a unique voice in music and culture for most of his career and later in life a reliable voice for the most vulnerable among us.
