Apropos of my immediately previous post, I'm reminded yet again of when Canada had a formidable fisheries and aquatic research capability, second to none in the world. It's not gone yet, but it is vastly diminished under a federal policy, apparently, of deliberate ignorance. We need to resurrect the Fisheries Research Board of Canada, an independent research body, and fund it adequately.
