Oh, this photo does not meet my taste either. However, we don't know how it looks in its intended size/medium. In the past when I commented on flaws in Crewdson's photographs you rightly insisted that they need to be seen in full and in print to judge. I merely state the same ;-)
That said - at least the Spanish Crown seem to be onboard with these shots. So maybe Leibovitz simply delivered what was expected?
