Inflation was stuffed into assets from 2010-2021. CPI didn’t/doesn’t include home prices and financial assets. During the original QE’s, inflation was hidden in plain sight bc CPI was more or less unaffected. But ask anyone who bought real estate in 2010 and they are a first world king now.
My point is there was no where else for inflation to hide after the covid QE’s and that’s why we finally saw CPI affected. My bigger point is for us to stop looking at CPI for inflation numbers, that is how it’s hidden from us.
