We could argue that all problems originate in religion but we could also argue that agriculture and settlements are the root of problems and we'd be on a similar footing. It's not wrong!
But the issues we're facing today are rooted in liberalism, which started to rise in the 15th or 16th centuries along with the Enlightenment. Our rights individual rights only begin to exist then.
