Apparently ZipCar no longer automatically gives members an NFC card for locking/unlocking the cars, and many newer members are reliant on the mobile app to get into their rental cars. This doesn't go so hot when there's an outage... 😉

(I also find the card essential for locking/unlocking the car in underground parking garages or anywhere else you can't get a signal through to get the app working and talking to the car!)
