This reminds me of when we established a free-speech monument in downtown Charlottesville. The winning design was a huge chalkboard, right in front of city hall, stocked with chalk weekly. Anybody can write anything, and anybody can erase anything.
A particular faction was (and probably still is) outraged. “Erasing other people’s words isn’t free speech!” Oh really? It should be *illegal* to erase a chalkboard? It remains a great illustration of free expression, including erasing.
