If you look carefully at this image of Mars, you'll notice a black dot. That's NASA's Curiosity Rover climbing its way up the side of Mount Sharp in a region called Gediz Vallis. This region was one of the last to form on the side of Mount Sharp and provides a historical record of one of the last wet periods of Mars. NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured this image on the 4,051st day of Curiosity's mission.
