What Plato left out here was the risk of central points of failure… which was the purpose of checks and balances in the U.S, even if imperfectly applied. The Founding Fathers attempting to address the “central point of failure issue” as Satoshi did reveals its importance: that kings can’t be trusted unilaterally with complete power, no matter the title or accolades bolstering their authority.
Nature is structured in a way that distributes risk and allows for experimentation in restrained ways, promoting evolution. Analogous to different states and cities allowing for slightly different laws (localism), while all still abiding by the universal constitution.
All of life still follows the same core laws of physics, but slight genetic variations that emerge are what lead to evolution. The variations never break the core laws of physics, like how new local laws never break the constitution.
This seems like a better way to experiment, in a distributed and variating way — still restrained by a universal ruleset, compared to merely endowing a fallible human with ultimate power just because of his status.
