I’ve always been uncomfortable with using “blatodea” as the family name for roaches and termites— the greek root blatta… just sounds too much like “splat” and don’t these little vegetarians get enough grief? What about a name that celebrated their gut symbiosis? Or their magnificent running style?
I have a lot of guilt due to the feeders I keep for the ants.
