In the last Cordwainer book, the first chapter began with what I called a "rolling" point of view: the pov switched from person to person as Cordwainer walked across the city, each person narrating their own situation as well as their sight of Cordwainer and their speculations about where he was going.
It was just a small stretch, but it was fun as an experiment and at least one reader said they liked it.
