kitchen scissors come with two little roughly sawed permanent magnet discs embedded into the plastic
no proper adhesive, no overmolding with locking ridges or even simple drill in the side for the injection mold to lock the magnets in... almost instantly the magnets fall out of the molding
so i stick some glue on it, and that will work because i have used this glue on this type of plastic and it works, not perfect but enough to resist the force of weight and magnetic attraction to ferrous materials
second example, i buy shitty chinese magnifying glass with built-in toggle switch for lithium battery powered LED... firstly, toggle, not momentary, which means it's possible to forget to turn it off and there goes your lamp... secondly, the actual lens is embedded in a plastic ring which is loosely locked to the outer ring that is the main body of the object... it has to literally be glued in or it just falls out... i buy this from the shop, and it's already fucked before i hardly even use it
it's a plague, communist manufacturing... and they gutted american and japanese manufacturing and european union has all but destroyed all the actually functioning fabriks in eastern europe now
things are seriously going backwards, only silly people who think AI is some great advance are not undestanding that physical objects used to be at least 10x higher quality even at the same price point relative to cost of living... literally shit now is like the worst of early 80s communist manufacturing industry now, world wide
