My naive take not watching the whole thing end to end. Is it possible that both candidates came out winners? It seemed like they both accomplished most of what they intended to do. I was almost expecting a hug at one point when talking about gun violence in schools. Vance was smooth and polished and didn't seem weird, but also spent much of the time saying peripheral things that avoided the issues that are awkward for R's. Walz looked more nervous and stressed a lot of the time, but also seemed to dig way deeper into substantive stuff and say more real and meaningful things. The respective choirs probably heard what they wanted to hear as per usual. I don't think it moves the needle too much once the dust settles.
