I have been programming for many decades. I find LLMs useful for programming, mostly due to their magic autocomplete, which often writes the small snippet I would have written anyway, or sometimes teaches me a new idiom.

I see a lot of people react very negatively about using LLMs for programming. A lot of a priori arguments going around why it's bad.

LLMs certainly don't replace programmers but can certainly supplement. It's a tool.
