Some of them want to help more people get into this line of work by making it easier to love programming.

I'm in this line of work despite hating programming. I don't want to make programming easier to love — I want programming to go away.

Some people object to this framing, or feel threatened by it.
I'm not going to be able to make programming go away for them.
