Here’s more:
- Primal is not blatantly transparent about Strike’s KYC and not at all transparent about what data is sent to KYC users.
- Primal LOCKS post functionality if you don’t activate a wallet. Why not just disable Zaps?
- Primal isn’t up front and transparent that Strike is the wallet provider. Read our privacy policy does not count.
- Primal could provide other wallet options that can be topped up by Apple.
- Primal could adopt Damus’ approach, Zaps are reachable from EACH post.
Primal has CHOSEN not to adhere to these tenets of privacy and decentralization. There is nothing more you can say to “blame Apple” that can convince anyone otherwise because Damus does it, and Damus’ Zap flow works easily. The very fact that we can leave Primal and take our network with us IS the power of Nostr.
Why would any real Bitcoiner trade privacy for the ability to Zap differently? For convenience? We have all heard that before.
PS: I like Primal, but these decisions show a trend that is making me doubt everyone involved… including Strike: this all screams seeding a walled garden. Which is fine, but then the Bitcoin OGs that promote decentralisation and transparency as well as the Primal platform should re-check their ethos because there are some red flags here.
