There were three brothers: the first was named Kyi, the second Shchek, and the third Khoryv, and they had a sister named Lybid. Kyi lived on the hill where Borychiv Descent now stands. Shchek lived on the hill now called Shchekavytsia. And Khoryv lived on the third hill, which was named Khoryvytsia after him. They built a city in honor of their eldest brother and named it Kyiv.
