Today is the annual condo fire alarm test, otherwise known as 'live-action ear torture chamber'.
In all seriousness, being forced to stay in the apartment all day while the alarms shriek at ungodly levels just so they can access and check the alarms for <30secs is ridiculous.
My poor eardrums take days to recover, usually.
