Now that Mastodon lets you follow hashtags, you should be allowed to follow whole instances. Would be particularly handy for discoverability and would spur the creation of instances that are centered around a specific subject, like Ruby.social.
I know some clients let you browse other instances’ local timelines, but it’d be nice to have them in the main timeline.
