I seem to be in the minority to think this is not as strong as the first film. I fear Villeneuve is overwhelmed by All The Plot, and even though he makes elisions, there's still way too much to cover for a movie screenplay. And so you get a series of "...and then this happens," rather than a strong structure.
It's not bad or anything, but I felt it dragging in a way that never occurred with PART 1.
