In a bit of good local news the local smallholding-butchers we use have bought the site of the other village butcher who retired and shut down. They're keeping the existing farm site and poultry slaughter house but moving retail operations to the acquired village centre site. Which will be awesome as that's a 5 minute walk from home!
(The closed butcher was also decent TBF, we just preferred the other one who pretty much raise everything themselves on their own farm in the village.)
