not for the first time, I am feeling very annoyed that people with marginalizations have to pay a constant "knowing things are definitely not okay" psychic tax, while people without those marginalizations just seem to swan around blithely believing in the inherent goodness of the world. it's so unfairly cognitively draining, on top of all of the other inequalities
