Tandem or solo?
I’ve got 200 jumps under my belt, it’s a beautiful sport, incredibly misunderstood by the public.
Falling down isn’t really what it’s about, flying your body is.
You are a wing, a glider, gravity is your engine and the wind is your medium. You have a minute to fly with complete freedom, unlike anything you can dream, before you deploy a truly marvellous magical fabric wing.
The second half of the skydive, the canopy (parachute) ride is equally if not more enjoyable. Those things are sports bikes for the sky, incredibly powerful devices which must be treated with respect.
You fly around for awhile milking the view before coming in for a landing, filled with elation, high fiving your mates before packing your canopy and doing it all again.
If you’ve got some money to spare, go do your AFF, you won’t regret it! If you just want a taste of the speed, the wind and the height, go do a tandem!
