I don’t know where you are, but donating to food recovery is legally required of certain businesses in CA (or maybe it will be later this year… I remember the bill passing, but don’t remember the dates).
Interestingly enough, this was required as part of a climate action bill, not a poverty assistance one. It turns out that food in landfills pretty quickly turns into methane, which is a pretty nasty greenhouse gas.
Seems like a no-brainer on multiple fronts.
