Something that just doesn't make much sense is why AlmaLinux 8 (in particular) has behaved better than CentOS Stream, RHEL, etc for Ceph lately. For example, the CentOS Storage SIG docs are out of date and it doesn't seem that, as of a few weeks ago at least, that reef was fully supported. Not impossible to get running, but it just all works easy out of box with AlmaLinux 8 (AlmaLinux 9 took extra steps to get there).
