I did not yet try replacing the USB-C cable with the new one they sent.
A Maker Forums Discourse member with an X-Max 3 said that after multiple replacement cables from Qidi, he bought a UGREEN 60W cable that solved the problem (after the UGREEN 100W didn't).

However, with a 115W hot end at 24V and that 60W cable being rated at 20V, I worry more than a bit about the idea of running a 60W cable.
