Dear app-as-platform-as-whatever vendors: If you make something that's designed to catch my attention in order to make me aware of your new feature it _will_ grab my attention and then I will be annoyed at it and I will not use your new feature out of spite.

My attention is mine and I _hate_ having it hijacked.
