lol…small sums are easy to come by at local meetups. Large sums will be tricky; for large sums best to buy KYC…if you need to recover privacy, worry about that after purchase and before spending.
An advantage to using KYC exchange is having a source for documentation to generate tax paperwork / permit you to write off purchase price if/when you sell. For the foreseeable future, you might do well to take tax neutral actions like not realizing a gain (borrow against bitcoin if you need dollars or whatever, but work hard to avoid selling bitcoin).
