Try the app One Sec. You can set up a delay for certain apps, so you can still use them, but it's not the twitchy habit it can become. I was looking for something like this, found One Sec, and signed up.
My ideal is an app very similar to One Sec, but one that requires you to solve a little addition problem, in order to be able to get to your (addictive) app.
