You can infer a lot about someone by knowing which political party they support.
You can infer even more if you know which political party someone supports and what their favourite band is.
You can infer an incredible amount of information from knowing which political party they support, who their favourite band is and what town or suburb they live in.
With only 3 data points you could probably work out with a fair level of accuracy:
- life expectancy
- religion
- favourite foods / diet
- clothing preference
- type of vehicle owned
- social values
- family values
- favourite genre of film
- stance on different global conflicts
- views on the state
- coffee preference
- how many stamps in their passport
- field of occupation
- where they shop
- net wealth
Now imagine that someone or some group has 50, 100, 1000, 10,000 data points about your life.
They’d probably know you, better than you know yourself.
It’s always interesting when you meet someone for the first time, you are trying to figure them out and you discover a massive preference outlier that doesn’t fit the archetype!
