I will just briefly wade into “copyright year” discourse. Under the Berne convention, copyright is automatic. A copyright notice is a courtesy for record-keeping purposes. When you say “copyright some guy 2025” in a notice, what you are doing is making a claim to the reader, “this text was authored in 2025 and thus any copyright term should be counted on that date”.
