StevenB on Nostr: All you nostriches recommending Wavlake to musicians because they let you sign in ...
All you nostriches recommending Wavlake to musicians because they let you sign in using an nsec, do you realize if Wavlake turned off it's server tomorrow, those musicians would be without wallets and all of their content would be gone. You preach being censorship resistance, then point these new musicians to another centralized platform that controls the artists' means of distribution and payment. Just because a platform gives you an nsec, a wallet, and slick drag and drop interface for uploading your files to their server doesn't mean the they're the best place for a musician. Wavlake has removed artists from their platform before because they were from the wrong country. In fairness, they've since implemented ways to work around the legal hurdles that forced them remove those artists, but the fact remains that they were forced to de-platform people because it affected their business. Is that really where we should be sending people coming over to nostr because they hear it's a place that you can't be de-platformed?
