Just looked up the word troglodyte, because I read it increasingly often. I only knew it as the scientific name for a house wren (little bird), but it all makes sense now ;)
The term comes from the Greek word "troglodytēs" (τρογλοδύτης), meaning "one who dwells in a hole" or "cave-dweller."
