Thanks for the reply, but I already know these things.

My question is more practical. How many times do people search directly the domain names? Almost never, with the exception of bookmarks, which is where I see the value of this.

However, 99% of websites are found through search engines, which CAN censor however they want.

I will also extend this conversation to Nuh 🔻 (npub1jvx…7yqz). Let's focus on just cryptographic identities (e.g. npubs).

I want to search for the content of "Jordan Peterson" (but I don't know his key yet).
On nostr:
- I use WoT magic to know which key is J.P.
- I ask a specialized relay which relay that key is publishing to.
- And then I ask that other relay.

On pubky:
- I use WoT magic to know which key is J.P.
- I ask the DHT for his homeserver.
- And then I ask that homeserver.

One could argue that the DHT is better than asking a specialized relay, and fair enough, but that imo is not a 10x improvement, and doesn't justify changing the cryptographic curve.

Especially because the situation where pubky *might* be slightly better, is an edge case. Like, why are you looking for the content of J.P. in the first place? Either you:
- know him from another channel, which means you can just go to that other channel and see the list of his "identities". Super common to do, and it actually makes the most sense because you already know J.P. let's say on Twitter, and you want to follow the SAME person on Nostr. Doesn't matter if he's not the most popular J.P.

- saw some of his content already and liked it. But hey all youtubers and content creators add a list of their profiles to their content anyway. So you can just find it that way.
